The new MG year has kicked off with the Fairmile New Year meal on 8th January. Very early for us but that’s the way the calendar falls now we meet on 2nd Thursday of the month. 20 members from near and quite far away braved a wet evening to dine together. The pub was warm and we had a room and table to ourselves which worked really well. There were only two other people in the whole place so getting a drink was not a problem. The food was good. James the manager looked after us well and threw in complimentary tea and coffee. The toast was to ‘friends old and new’ and we had a very pleasant evening together talking about our plans for 2015.
We had a busy 2014 with a new year meal, a film show, two talks and the biggest and best Pride of Ownership of the year in the Centre. We also have some new members so 2015 is looking good for us. The furthest travelled member came from Cape Town, South Africa! He owns a TC and his daughter lives in Esher so he drops in when he is over. Remarkably, he has a friend in Cape Town who grew up at the Fairmile. His father used to be the publican there!! It really is a small world these days.
Do come down to see us if you have not been before. If you want to join us for a meal beforehand let us know and we will make sure we have a seat for you.
MGs forever!
