The SEC Trip to Dartmoor/Cornwall-25th-28th September,2015.
This is just a brief Summary of our frolics , points West. A fuller version will appear in The Newsletter.
I’m not going to name too many , to protect the innocent!
BUT,
Deserving of a name check, Brian and Maureen Mac. from Village Garage in East Grindstead, club supporters, and responsible for completing a total Engine rebuild on my CGT , at 8.30 p.m., on the night before departure! And for breaking down in their C in spectacular fashion , while my rebuilt GT didn’t miss a beat. Not a bad Road Test, a 600 odd mile tour!Brian even fixed a VW along the way-no it wasn’t the emissions!!
Ian and Greg from Ian Le Riche Restorations , Jersey, suppliers of the said GT, who fitted right in , with a stunning Rubber Bumper V8,in a delicate and rare, factory, shade, of white , with a touch of Lavender.
New members , John and Jane Watson , on their first SEC trip, in their NG bodied supercar, no hood!
Lucky, Virgin campers, because the weather throughout was magnificent.
John Bennett for forming the new MGCC SEC wine appreciation Group.
The newly formed MGCC SEC Swimming Group, initial members -6-inaurgural swim, Charlestown , Sunday in a heavy swell.
SECSG baptism for Jane Watson , the only plucky GEL, but in what looked suspiciously like a wet suit!
Our Final Night , Colourful Shirt, Colourful scarf, competition , sunglasses a must!
Two contrasting Hotels, The White Hart in Moretonhampstead, magnificent,
The Porth Avallen , Carlyon Bay, a sort of Homage to “Fawlty Towers”, but you’d pay for the uninterrupted view of the sea!Lebanese George , we won’t forget you mate!!
Visits to Stately Homes and Gardens, one incredible Motor Museum, and the driving highlight, Dartmoor on a glorious late September day, real MG roads and scenery. Above all , so many laughs along the way. Thanks to all the group for their stamina and good humour.
The photographic evidence is on the site now.
Enjoy !
