A mere ten cars competed this time due to a terrible weather forecast but weren’t we lucky!
There was a warm welcome of bacon butties and hot drinks at the Bo Peep PH. The mood was good, the rain stopped before we started, the sun came out and the weather was glorious!
The cars were a wonderful ancient to modern assortment of MGs and old Inter Register Club types. After the competitors had planned their routes they set off in all directions using the small country lanes and steep hills of this little known part of Kent. After 3 1⁄2 hours everyone was back at the Bo Peep ready for a well-deserved meal and the rosette presentations.
The results this time were closer than ever and once again the older cars did exceptionally well. Congratulations must go to the Bayne-Powells in their Allingham bodied NA who beat Steve & Denise Cherry in their beautiful Sabre Royal by just three minutes with the same score!
If any newcomer had turned up on the day they needed to do very little to win the Novice Trophy – Make this your New Year’s Resolution and take part in the next Naviscat event planned for Sunday 8th March 2020 by John Reay.
