Jon and Caroline Glover are leading this tour to The Jersey Festival Of Motoring and it is open to all South East Centre Members. It takes place from May 29th to June 3rd – 2024 (including 2 travel days).
Caroline and I attended this Event in 2023 and had a whale of a time !!
The Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever in 2024 .
It includes a Concourse D’Elegance , with a package of Breakfast and lunch (available at extra cost – details later ).
Events include a terrific Hill Climb competition for cars and motorbikes, accessible for spectators, adjacent to the main Showground, in St Helier, with its Classic displays – new car offerings, food outlets, Live Music etc.
Events also take place around the roads and seafront of St. Helier, throughout the weekend.
The atmosphere in St Helier during the Festival is terrific, and as well as the Festival, all the Islands many attractions, pubs, restaurants and beaches are within easy reach. With its short distances to drive, this trip is particularly,’older MG friendly ‘!
We have arranged a BOOKING PACKAGE with our friends at SCENIC CAR TOURS.
We suggest Travel by Ferry from Portsmouth, which whilst longer than the fast service from Poole, is, in our experience, more reliable.
Though entrants are welcome to book this service if they prefer.
The Condor Sailings, from and to Portsmouth, are an experience in themselves – we have opted for the exclusive CLUB LOUNGE option for the Day Crossing to St. Helier, including complimentary tea and coffee. and an Outside Cabin for the night return sailing, including early breakfast.
A full range of food and beverages is available on board.
For the Festival we will be based at The West Hill Country Hotel, just outside St. Helier in beautiful, rural surroundings, where we have stayed several times for Car Events.
There is ample, open parking, lovely gardens and a large, heated, outdoor Swimming Pool complex. The staff are particularly jolly and helpful.
