For many years, Autotesting was a regular feature of the MGCC SE Centre programme and there was even a Championship throughout the year. The Centre is continuing to encourage entry level motorsport and this year, MotorsportUK have introduced a new category of autotest at reduced fees – the evening autotest. So, we are gradually bringing back some of these competitive driving events for 2025 – this year they include two Naviscats, an Autosolo and an evening Autotest.
This autotest will be held in a level grass field close to Newdigate. The driving tests will be kept simple and mainly forward only. Arrangements will include two tests running concurrently with entrants having three runs with best two times counting. The test layouts will then be changed to allow two further tests to be run.
Scruitineering commences at 6.30pm with the driving tests commencing at 7.00pm continuing through to 9.00pm or dusk. The event is weather dependent and may be subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather or soft ground in the field.
Passengers are not allowed, unless entering as junior aged 14 to 17 without a driving licence. Entrants may enter in non-MGs The evening will finish with the rosettes being awarded in a local hostelry which may possibly be the Dorking Brewery Taproom.
This event is intended for anyone that enjoys driving their car whether experienced or a complete novice at Autotesting.
