Event Conditions and Procedures

The MGCC SE Centre is organising an MG meet – ‘The Ghosts of West Horsley Place’ Summer Meeting. The event includes a choice of two Scenic Runs and a Concours d’elegance and Pride of Ownership. Event entry includes visiting the House and Gardens. The venue address is:

West Horsley Place, Epsom Road, West Horsley KT24 6AN

Entries to this event are confirmed once a completed Registration has been entered and accepted by MGCC SE Centre along with the entry fee paid.

Note – All entrants for the Road Runs and Concours d’elegance/Pride of Ownership will need to sign on at the start to comply with Motorsport UK Certification.

Event Entry Conditions and Procedures

Please read carefully the event arrangements summarised below.  Entrants and Spectators

  • Entry Cost for the event is inclusive of entry to The House and Gardens, the Scenic Runs and Concours/Pride of Ownership (fees are inclusive of carbon offsetting).
  • MGCC Member                – £15.00 per car including driver, Non-Member– £18.00
  • Additional Passengers      – £12.00 per person, Non-Member £15
  • Entries will include a small additional Booking fee from Little Box Office.
  1. Event Documentation and Signing-on:
  • Event Entry – Entrants will need to complete a pre-event Registration/Entry Form to confirm details of entrant, passengers and vehicle including name and address, telephone numbers, email, club membership, vehicle make/model/registration.
  • Entry Fee – Entrance fees should be paid in advance using the online system via The Little Box Offiuce. If that is not possible then please contact the treasurer , Ron Kemp, for details of how to pay in other ways – [email protected]
  • Last entry date is 14th August 2024.

 

  • This year the SE Centre’s chosen charity is The Prostate Cancer Charity. If you wish to give a donation, please indicate at the foot of the Registration Form and add the amount to the Entry Fee.
  • The Scenic Run directions together with any event final instructions will be issued electronically by 16th August 2024. Please email [email protected] should a printed copy be required

Event Organisation

  • General – The Scenic Run Touring Assembly and Concours/Pride of Ownership will be organised under a Motorsport UK Certificate of Exemption. Touring Assembly routes will be agreed with the appropriate County Route Liaison Officer.
  • Event Admission/Participation – There will be event start/entry control points at the start of the Scenic Run and at the entrance to West Horsley Place Event Field.
  1. Upon starting the Scenic Run, the marshal will check entrant entry and Drivers and Passengers will need to sign-on at the Run start.
  2. Upon arrival at West Horsley Place Event Field, parking directions will be given and Entrants for the Concours/Pride of Ownership will need to sign on at the marquee where the self-judging voting forms will be issued for the Pride of Ownership. The Concours will be judged. Class options are Concours, Premier Pride of Ownership for recent past winners and Pride of Ownership split into at least two classes pre 1956 and later cars depending on number of entries. Please select which is applicable on the entry form. Entry briefing final instructions will be available closer to the event.

The East Scenic Run starts from starts from Knights Garden Centre – Nags Hall, Oxted Rd, Godstone RH9 8DB easily accessible from M25/A22/A25. Southern Run start TBC.

  • Event Times –Scenic Runs commence from 10.00 to 11.00am.
  • The MG Event at West Horsley Place event opens at 10.30am, with the Gardens closing at 16.00.
  • Concours/Pride of Ownership judging should be commenced by 1.00pm and completed by 2.30pm. Rosettes for the class winners will be awarded by 4.00pm.
  • Event awards will be made at the SE Centre Annual Lunch on 27th October 2024.
  • Refreshments – West Horsley Place will have Hot drinks, savoury snacks and cakes available on the day at a pop-up cafe at Place Farm Barn. Picnics are welcome.
  • Dogs – Only registered assistance dogs are permitted access to the manor house and walled gardens. All other dogs can be walked in the free-to-access surrounding parkland only and the event field.
  • Toilets – Facilities are located in the main house and in the barn. Both are accessible.
  • Special Needs – Please let the organisers know if any entrant driver or passenger has any special needs such as accessibility, etc. and assistance may be required.
  • Event Publicity and Records – Please be aware that the MGCC reserves the right to publish any photographs taken at the event on the Club website, Social Media or Newsletter/Club Magazine. Under GDPR, entrant entry details such as names, addresses and contact information will be retained by the MGCC SE Centre as part of the events records.
  • First Aid – The MGCC Organisers will have a First Aid kit available for entrants’ use and West Horsley Place will have their own First Aiders.
