The MGCC SE Centre is organising an MG Road Run from Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking to Herstmonceaux Castle, East Sussex.
Entries to this event are confirmed once a completed Registration has been entered and accepted by MGCC SE Centre along with the entry fee paid.
Note – This is a social scenic road run with no competitive element attached.
Event Entry Conditions and Procedures
Please read carefully the event arrangements summarised below: –
- Entry Cost for the event is inclusive of entry to Herstmonceaux Castle, Rally Plate and Route Book (fees inclusive of carbon offsetting)
- MGCC Member Driver and Car – £15.00 Non-Member– £20.00
- Additional Passengers – £10.00 per person
- Entries include all booking fees from Little Box Office.
- Event Documentation and Signing-on:
- Event Entry – Entrants will need to complete a pre-event online Registration/Entry Form to confirm details of entrant, passengers and vehicle including name and address, telephone numbers, email, club membership, vehicle make/model/registration.
- Entry Fee – Entrance fees should be paid in advance using the online system via The Little Box Office. If that is not possible then please contact the treasurer , Ron Kemp, for details of how to pay in other ways – [email protected]
- Last entry date is 11th May 2025.
- This year the SE Centre’s chosen charity is The Prostate Cancer Charity. If you wish to give a donation, please indicate at the foot of the Registration Form and add the amount to the Entry Fee.
- The Scenic Run directions will be issued on sign on in a printed route book. If you wish to have an electronic version a pdf can be requested by email to [email protected]
Event Organisation
- General – The Scenic Run Touring Assembly will be organised under a Motorsport UK Certificate of Exemption. Touring Assembly routes will be agreed with the appropriate County Route Liaison Officer.
- Event Admission/Participation – There will be event start/entry control points at the start of the Scenic Run and at the entrance to Herstmonceaux Castle.
- Upon starting the Scenic Run, the marshal will check entrant entry and Drivers and Passengers will need to sign-on at the Run start. Denbies Wine Estate is located at London Road, Dorking RH5 6AA
- Upon arrival at Herstmonceaucx Castle, look for the MG Car Club arrow flags – parking directions will be given. The Castle is located in Wartling Road, Hailsham, East Sussex BN27 1RN
The Scenic Run starts from Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking
- Event Times –Sign on from 9.30am
- Scenic Runs commence from 10.00am to 11.00am.
- MG arrivals at Hertmonceaux Castle will be expected from 1pm.
- Refreshments – Denbies have a large cafe which will be open for breakfast, teas and coffees etc. There is a smaller cafe at Herstmonceaux Castle. Parking will be on a field in front of the castle and picnics are welcome to be taken.
- Dogs – Dogs are permitted in the gardens and grounds but must be kept on a lead.
- Accessibility – The gardens are largely flat but there are some rough areas and steps. The Castle originates in the 15th Century and is consequently difficult to access.
- Toilets – Facilities are located at Denbies main building and at Herstmonceaux Castle. Fuel / toilet stops will be indicated in the route book.
- Special Needs – Please let the organisers know if any entrant driver or passenger has any special needs such as accessibility, etc. and assistance may be required.
- Event Publicity and Records – Please be aware that the MGCC reserves the right to publish any photographs taken at the event on the Club website, Social Media or Newsletter/Club Magazine. Under GDPR, entrant entry details such as names, addresses and contact information will be retained by the MGCC SE Centre as part of the events records.
- First Aid – The MGCC Organisers will have a First Aid kit available for entrants’ use and Herstmonceaux Castle will have their own First Aiders.
- Carbon Offest – 50p per vehicle will be paid to carbon offset this event.
